Delicious Bowl of Zesty Turmeric Dahl with rice

Vibrant Zesty Dahl

 

Made up of a vibrant blend of turmeric, spices, red & yellow lentils. A quick healthy meal without sacrificing flavour. All you need to make this easy dahl is Organic Zesty Turmeric dahl mix, 2 cups of vegetables, water and a squeeze of fresh lemon to finish.

 

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of ghee or coconut oil in a medium sized saucepan. Add dahl mix, stirring until fragrant, approximately 2 minutes
  2. Add 2 cups of mixed chopped vegetables - our favourite is carrot & baby spinach. 
  3. Add 5 cups of boiling water. 
  4. Once bubbling, reduce to a low-medium heat for 30 minutes, stirring ocasionaly. Add the juice of 1 lemon once cooked.

Served here with basmati rice, cucumber pieces, yoghurt and chutney. Paired perfectly with our Mumbai chai tea.

 

Or try these recipe variations

Add extra 1 cup of coconut cream for a milder creamy version 

Once cooked add 400g firm fish pieces & extra 1 cup of coconut cream for mild tangy fish curry, simmer until fish is ready

Add Sauteed cherry tomatoes & fresh chilli on top for more punch 


Serve this delicious dahl with 

Extra fresh baby spinach & sauteed tofu on top

Pan Fried chicken pieces & yoghurt on top 

As a side with another curry or protein

Serve with a side of roasted cauliflower
