Love My Earth Turns 14: A Journey of Vision, Persistence & Purpose

This year marks 14 years of Love My Earth — and what a journey it has been.

I was 30 years old when I first travelled to India. I had always loved Indian food, but something deeper was calling me. In my 30th birthday year, I knew it was finally time to go. I didn’t realise it then, but that decision would change the course of my life — and plant the seed for what would become Love My Earth.

Since that first trip, I’ve travelled to India six times. I’ve spent countless hot months visiting farms, meeting suppliers, attending organic conventions, and learning everything I could. It took a lot — time, money, energy — and yes, I made plenty of mistakes along the way. But every step, every challenge, has been worthwhile.

This journey hasn’t been easy. There have been many highs, but also plenty of lows — including moments during COVID when we came very close to closing our doors. But deep down, I always knew this story wasn’t finished. There was something still waiting to be fully brought to life.

Looking back, I think I may have been a little ahead of the time. People weren’t as ready for organics as they are today. I remember a time when I could barely give turmeric away — let alone sell it. Things have certainly changed.

Running a business is never a solo journey. I’ve been incredibly lucky to have the support of so many people along the way — my wife Bel, our extended family in India, and our very first suppliers, who are still with us today and have believed in our vision from the very beginning.

Over the past 18 months, after rebranding and relaunching with the help of business partners, distribution partners, retailers, and many other special people (you know who you are), I finally feel like we’re gaining real momentum. It’s a powerful feeling — and I’m so glad I didn’t give up, even when I came close.

Because something inside me always knew: this vision still wanted to be realised.

The journey — with all its lessons — was necessary to get here.

At its heart, Love My Earth has always been about one simple mission: to spread the word about delicious, healthy, inspiring organic food, and to encourage people to eat better and live better. Because food is our medicine.

April 22nd holds a special place in my heart. It’s the day we officially launched Love My Earth — and it’s also my father’s birthday. My dad passed away 15 years ago from cancer, which was an incredibly tough time for our family. Starting this business on his birthday was my way of honouring him.

I know he would be proud of what we’ve built.

Fourteen years on, I feel grateful — for the journey, for the people, for the lessons, and for the opportunity to continue growing something that truly matters.

And this is just the beginning.

Lately, I’ve had so much inspiration flowing through me — new product ideas, new creations, and even the possibility of cooked take-home meals for our local community. It’s an exciting time.

What I’ve realised is how much joy this truly brings me — cooking, creating, sharing, and inspiring others with heart-led ways to live and eat. That’s always been at the core of everything we do.

So thank you. Thank you for being part of this journey, for your support, and for believing in what we’re creating.

Please keep supporting us, sharing our products with your friends and families, and helping us continue to do what we love.

Lots of love,
Jess
